ASSESSMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY

The primary purpose of assessment is to measure and improve student learning. The Larkspur-Corte Madera School District has developed an assessment system that incorporates classroom assessments (the primary means to inform instruction and learning), local assessments and state-mandated assessments.

Assessment Information

    Classroom Assessments

Teachers frequently administer a variety of assessments to monitor student progress towards common core standards. These assessments can include tests, quizzes, projects, discussions, portfolios, presentations and assignments. The results of these assessments inform instruction throughout the year and help teachers meet the individual needs of each student.

    Disrict Assessments

The District administers common benchmark assessments three times a year in reading and math to all students. These assessments measure student growth throughout the year and provide valuable data to classroom teachers and grade level teams.

i-Ready Reading and Math Diagnostic Assessments

Students in 1st to 8th grade take the i-Ready Reading and Math Diagnostic assessments three times a year to measure student growth towards grade level standards. Teachers use the the assessment data to inform instruction. Assessment results are sent home to parents via ParentSquare after each administration.
